I'm Asaf, a product designer in New York. I'm at Bloomberg now, working in private markets, mostly private credit and structured ABF, where I help issuers bring deals to market and help lenders get through due diligence. Before that I led product design for self-directed investing and advisory at JPMorganChase, and before that I worked on private company data at CB Insights.
I like making dense, high-stakes financial tools feel calm and obvious. The people using them are experts and mistakes are expensive, so most of the job is cutting noise without cutting information. Lately I spend a lot of time figuring out where AI actually belongs in that work.
I gravitate to complex products and usually end up wearing a product hat too, helping teams figure out what to build first. I sweat the details, and I like helping teams move faster. I write code, mostly with a lot of help from AI, and I'm happiest when a design ends up as a pushed PR. I also keep a running list of design tools I'd build if I had a spare month.
At Outbrain I worked on growth marketing, video production and visual design. I also co-designed a mobile interface with Yaron Galai and Aynat Ben Ari that became US Design Patent D871436. It was granted on the last day of 2019, and a surprising number of later Apple design patents cite it.
Outside of work there's usually a soldering iron, a repair or a yard project going. I play piano, I wrestled, I speak several languages, and I can get happily lost in a museum. When the house is quiet, it's FPSs and MMORPGs (if you know, you know) or building an app. Home is Bergen County, New Jersey, with my wife, our daughters and a dog. Proud girl dad.
